Rwigi Gorilla Family (Rushaga)

This is a new gorilla family found in Rushaga sector of bwindi impenetrable national park. The family was started by a silverback Rwingi formerly a member of the kahugye family. Kahungye was known to be the largest gorilla family in this sector with over 24 members including 4 silverbacks. On the 11th of April 2019, Uganda wildlife authority reported that a new gorilla family had been created. It is stated that that after disagreements and resulted into a fight between Kahungye the dominant silverback and Rwingi the other silverback in the kahungye gorilla family, Rwingi was forced out of the family where he was one the silverback. Rwigi left the divided family members that were loyal to him and start his own family. The family started with six members; 3 adult females, 2 juveniles, 1 baby with Rwigi as the dominant silverback currenly the family has 12 members.
