KYAGURILO GORILLA FAMILY

Location: RuhijaThis family has 9 members led by dominant silver back Rukara. Originally habituated as a research family by the German Max Planck institute of evolotion anthropology; the family was big with 21 members led by Rukina as the dominant silverback whose authority was always contested by the young silverback mukiza. The family suffered a major tragedy when its leader and dominant silverback Rukina was struck dead by lightening on April 7th 2015 after leading the family for 11 years. After the death of Rukina, leadership of the family was taken over by the young inexperienced Mukiza. However his overall control of the family was short lived as the family was soon invaded by a migrant silverback Rukara. Tired of fights, mukiza decided to leave the family and took with him 12 members to form a new mukiza family leaving kyaguliro under the leadership of rukara with only 9 members.
